CHILDREN SERVICES
As a parent, you need to know what types of services we offer to the children we work with at Spectrum Speech Therapy. Here is a list of some of the things we address in therapy:
- Non-verbal communication (Children not yet using speech)
- Gestures as the main form of communication
- Articulation delays or disorders (Trouble pronouncing words)
- Motor speech disorders (e.g., Apraxia or Dyspraxia)
- Speech following an injury (e.g., traumatic brain injury)
- Language-based disorders
- Auditory processing challenges (Trouble understanding sounds heard, even though their hearing is normal)
- Voice disorders
- Social skills & pragmatic challenges
- Behavioral differences
- Chewing and swallowing difficulties
- Tongue thrust or open bite issues
- Excessive drooling
- Low tone in mouth muscles
- Sensory differences
- Use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) for expression
- Gestalt Language learners (Children learning language through phrases or scripts)
